Fall Weekend OOTD!

Hello! It’s only Saturday night, but I had quite an eventful Thursday & Friday, SO I’m calling that my weekend 🙂 I wanted to share an OOTD with you all! This was Thursday night. My sisters, mom & I road tripped up to northern MN to watch our favorite country artist Kip Moore play. It was amazing as always. If you haven’t heard of him PLEASE check him out. He’s beyonddddd talented and just an overall genuine, humble guy.

Friday night we headed back to Minneapolis, and went to his concert there as well! (we are obsessed.. yes.) We were lucky enough to go onto his tour bus with him and listen to his new album coming out in the spring (still convinced it was a dream).

Saturday Date Day + OOTD!

Ahhhh. Happy Sunday! Does anyone else wish there were more Sundays in the week? I’ve got my coffee, a candle burning, some Vance Joy playing (adore him) & my heart is happy.

Yesterday was the perfect date day with my husband & I just had to blog about it. We visited a small little city on the St. Croix river bordering Minnesota & Wisconsin called Stillwater. It’s one of my favorite places in MN. Its filled with tons of cute little boutiques, antique shops, bistros, & wineries. Best time to visit is in the fall. The colors are amazing! We were so lucky to have the perfect weather yesterday. 65 degrees and sunny on October 22nd in Minnesota is rare! Other years we’ve had a foot of snow on the ground.

We started out with a cinnamon mocha at the cutest cafe + studio + shop called Mara Mi. It’s my absolute favorite. It’s filled with the cutest wedding decor, scarves, stationary, italian soda’s and yummy coffee & pumpkin donut holes.

Totally obsessed with the aesthetic of this store. Everett was laughing at me because I was so happy just sippin’ my mocha and browsing all the cute stuff. After that we walked down to the river, watched the boats float by & people watched. I was amazed at how much diversity we saw! Many people speaking different languages. Stillwater is definitely becoming one of the biggest tourist spots in MN!

img_5935img_5937img_5927fullsizerenderFullSizeRender (13).jpgAfter that we got massages (amazing & so needed) & went to an italian cooking class! It was so fun! It was both of our first times going to a cooking class like this so we both didn’t really know what to expect. I definitely want to do it again! We are going to try to re-create the menu because it was so delicious!

Face Mask Favorites: L’Oreal, Freeman + Que Bella!

I’m a sucker for a good face mask.  I love trying new ones + also have a few staples that I swear by. I thought this would be a fun + different post. Especially since I recently tried out the new L’Oreal Pure Clay Masks that I’ve heard so much about! Hope you enjoy!

  1. Que Bella Beauty: Purifying Tea Tree Mud Mask

IMG_5650.JPG

This is my holy-grail, cant-live-without mask. There’s so many things I love about it. First, it’s only $1.99 at Target! I can get three uses out of one pouch. I just store the remaining in a plastic bag and it stays like new until next time. It has a great clean smell, and gives tingles a bit when you apply it. It has tea tree oil & witch hazel which are AMAZING for acne. I use this every other day when I have a breakout and it dramatically lessens the time the blemishes stick around. It makes your skin soft & feel so clean after you wash it off. I just ADORE this mask!

2. Freeman: Avocado Oatmeal Clay Mask

I also LOVE this mask. However, I use this one as a spot treatment rather than a full face mask because I found out it’s a bit harsh on my skin if I let it sit on my full face for too long.  If I have a major blemish emergency I will dab this on the spot and sleep with it on. In the morning, the redness and size are reduced!

3. L’Oreal Pure Clay Mud Mask: Detox & Brighten

This may be my new favorite! I’ve heard SO much about these new L’Oreal Masks & I just had to try it. I picked up the Detox & Brighten one because it has charcoal in it, which is really good for blackheads, which I struggle with. It gives a really nice cooling effect when you apply it & dries up quick which I like. It also has a really nice clean smell to it! I left it on for 15 minutes & washed off with warm water. My skin felt SO soft, I was amazed! This mask quickly made it’s way onto my favorites  & I can’t wait to use it more. And I also LOVE the packaging. It comes in this cute little jar.. so easy to store & keep fresh!

Easy & Affordable DIY Fall Wreath!

Fall is happening any day ya’ll! I’m probably more excited for fall this year then I’ve ever been because I can DECORATE my own space this year ❤

My sister and I were looking for fall decor and saw these adorable fall wreaths everywhere. I thought they would be so adorable on my front door but they averaged $40-$50 a piece, which is outrageous. So we were looking around more and I thought “It would be so easy to make this ourselves..”

So here we have a super adorable DIY Fall Wreath for about $15.00! Score!

Here is what you will need: Everything bought at Michaels Craft Store, but any craft store should have similar stuff.

  • Grapevine Wreath $4.99
  • Any flowers you like- make sure you look for coupons, there is ALWAYS 40% off coupons for Michaels on the Coupon Sherpa app!
  • Hot Glue Gun- Optional- we ended up just weaving the stems into the wreath but if you want extra security you could glue some of them in.
  • Wire cutter

Simply arrange the flowers how you like and there you have it! We decided to do only about 3/4 of the wreath in flowers because I liked the look of the sticks, but you can totally cover the whole thing in flowers for a more dramatic look.

I love how they turned out and we are definitely going to make one for Christmas too.

Detox Water: Grapefruit +Strawberry + Lemon

image2

I’m super excited to share this delicious detox water recipe with you! Lately I’ve been on a water binge. Sounds silly, but I’ve been trying to consume 80-100 oz. of water per day. That means getting very creative with flavoring my water, and many many trips to the bathroom (I pee every 15 min.. not joking) Lets start with some background.. the words “Detox” and “Toxins” had little meaning to me a few weeks ago. After doing some research about the benefits of Detox Water, and just water in general.. they now have a new meaning!

Your body is actually pretty good at detoxifying without the help of any expensive supplements.. all you need is water and fruit! Also, one of the great things about these detox water recipes is that they sweeten up your water and also help you increase your daily intake of water, thus satisfying your sugar cravings and keeping you from running to the cookie jar instead. Try to be strict about your drinking,  & the extra hydration that detox water provides will make you feel full longer, which in turn helps you to lose weight. And lastly, many of the ingredients in detox water recipes are meant to give you an extra dose of vitamins and a nice boost to your metabolism.

So what are you actually “detoxing” and what are these “toxins” in your body? This is something I didn’t really understand at first until I did some research.

When you hear the word “toxins,” it’s referring to two different forms of harmful substances in your body.  Environmental toxins & Metabolic toxins. Environmental toxins come from elements like pollution. Chemical pesticides used on the apple you ate are an example of an environmental toxin. Metabolic toxins are made inside your body. These toxins include illnesses, like a virus or a bacterial infection. So fruit infused water essentially helps flush your system of this crud!

I can 100% say I have seen a difference in my body. And it’s only been two weeks since I’ve started really focusing on my water intake. I’ve noticed I’ve had more energy, my joints feel less stiff, my skin seems to recover from a blemish faster.. and it helps me feel full longer!

For this detox water I used:

1 full grapefruit, sliced

1 large lemon, sliced

½ cup of strawberries, sliced

Full pitcher of water

Stir, and let it sit for 24 hours

Enjoy!

Porcelain Pitcher  I use: (LOVE this pitcher. So heavy duty and very affordable!)

DIY: Chalkboard Signs; Floral + Rustic

I wanted to share one of my new obsessions. Chalkboard signs! During wedding planning over the last 6 months I’ve grown to LOVE chalkboard DIY’s. It started with my vision for my wedding. The theme is rustic but classy, outdoorsy and whimsicle. I made my first sign (the wood slab “bar” one) and it took me forever! I was so focused on making my handwriting perfect and I redid it a thousand times! Now I just free-hand it and go with the flow and I find they turn out better! After I finished the writing on the bar sign, I loved it.. but I felt like it needed just a little something more. I had these faux flowers laying around from another DIY and decided to hot glue them on. I LOVE how it turned out & it fits the theme of my wedding so well 🙂 So then it kind of snowballed from there and now I’m obsessed with making these cute signs. Which one is your favorite? Mine is the gold framed Welcome sign. ❤ Hope you enjoy! I linked some of the chalkboards and supplies I’ve used if you want to do it yourself.

TGIF + What I Wore This Week Challenge!

TGIF! For some reason this week seemed endless. Maybe it’s because I’ve been feeling like total crap lately.. 😦 NO FUN. But It’s going to be a fun weekend, and I’m excited to share come Sunday! This week I decided to participate in Amanda Bella’s “What I Wore This Week Challenge” #WIWTWABChallenge! I’m not going to lie my style needs work. I gravitate towards easy, and comfortable pieces and usually rotate my favorites every week. It was fun to put a bit more thought into what I wear knowing I had to snap a selfie! p.s. don’t mind my work badge in every picture, the bathrooms have good mirrors 😉

November Lovin’ + Saturday!

Ahhh I adore November. This year I am even more excited about the holidays. November and December are the best 2 months of the year in my opinion! This first week of November has been really good to me. The weather has been perfect here in Minnesota, & surprisingly we haven’t had our first snowfall yet! Sometimes it falls as early as mid-October! The first snowfall is always exciting.  I received some AWESOME news yesterday, my boyfriend Everett FINALLY got a great job after searching since we graduated college in June. This means we can start looking at houses and get a place together! Ahhhh the thought of decorating my OWN space and being able to spend every day with the love of my life is so exciting. Things really do happen for a reason all in the right timing. I’m surprising him tonight and taking him out to a nice dinner at CRAVE at the Mall of America. They have really good sushi and pasta, I can’t wait! Here’s a little snapshot at my lazy & beautiful Saturday morning.

Too early for Christmas mugs? Nah.

They are soooo good! The perfect combo of love, drama, and it is very relatable and keeps you interested! HAPPY WEEKEND! Wishing you everything this quote says! 🙂 201767b3e04aa858f0e7faaf69a0e3da

Ahhhhh.. Fall! This fall has been one for the books. I can’t believe its already October 18th! Fall time is much too short in Minnesota, and it flys by because its my favorite time of year. So much to do! Seems like every weekend lately we’ve been up to something fall related. Pumpkin patches, apple orchards, baking goodies, and of course fall SHOPPING! I found this fun fall tag & thought it would be fun to share! What are your favorite things about fall?

1. Favorite Fall lip product? I’ve never been a huge lip product person, or just makeup in general, but I absolutely can’t live without my cherry carmex!
2. Favorite Fall Nail Polish? I am terrible at painting my own nails, therefore I get them done every two weeks & leave it to the professionals. I’ve been gravitating towards maroons, dark purples and greys.
3. Favorite Starbucks Fall Drink? Hands down, salted caramel mocha. To die for.
4. Favorite Fall Candle?
Bath and Body Works Marshmallow Fireside. Ahhhh so good!
5. Favorite Fall Scarf or accessory? I love big bulky sweater scarves.
6. Haunted house, haunted hay ride, or haunted corn maze?
 Hay ride!
7. Favorite Halloween movie? Hocus Pocus. However, I love watching fall decor shows lately.
8. Favorite candy to eat on Halloween? Reeses! YUM
9. What are you dressing up as for Halloween?!
I’ve never been a huge halloween person to be honest. I more enjoy other fall activities. So this year I’m not dressing up. We plan on laying low, baking some goodies, maybe do a few fun crafts/DIY’s and popping in a movie! Perfect to me!
10. What is your Favorite thing about Fall? EVERYTHING! The scents, the beautiful leaves, the cool air, the fashion. All of it.
